Best DIY Hair Masks To Turn Your Hair From Drab to Fab I Yayy!

Summer is a difficult time for your beautiful hair.

With all the heat and dryness from the super high temperatures and all the oil and sweat coming down from the scalp, hair tends to get really damaged during this time.

Frizz, dryness, and roughness, all of them overshadow the naturally beautiful hair you have got. With you being stuck at home, your hair does miss that spa it occasionally got.

To keep your hair healthy and to lock down all the nourishment, we bring to you 6 DIY masks for your hair.

 

For Dry Hair – Honey, Egg, and Apple Cider Vinegar Mask

 

The egg smoothens all that frizz out, and to go with that apple cider vinegar, will really hydrate your hair. And, for nourishing the scalp, we have the sweet honey.

What do you need?

1 egg, 1 table spoon honey and 1 table spoon apple cider vinegar

How do you make it?

Combine all three ingredients in a small bowl. You can always upscale or downscale based on your hair length. Apply it from root to toes. Leave the mask on for about 40-45 minutes before you rinse it off with warm water and a mild, preferably natural shampoo.

 

For Dull Hair- Apple Cider Vinegar, Honey and Coconut Oil

 

To bring that shine back to your hair, nothing works better than apple cider vinegar. Plump, hydrated and shiny hair is what this mask is all set to give you.

What do you need?

1 table spoon apple cider vinegar, 1 table spoon honey and 1 table spoon coconut oil

How do you make it?

Combine all ingredients in a bowl and apply it onto your scalp, and then slowly move towards the tips. Make sure your hair is damp before you apply the mixture. Leave it on for about 20 min before you rinse it out. It works well even for chemically treated hair.

 

For Irritated Scalp 

 

Summer can get really upsetting for your scalp, with all the sweat and the dryness. This rinse will soothe the scalp and make it feel like Christmas morning

What do you need?

1 cup of green tea, a few drops of peppermint oil and 1 table spoon of apple cider vinegar

How do you make it?

Mix all the ingredients in a cup and slowly massage the mixture onto your scalp. The pour the mixture down on to your hair, making sure it reaches from the scalp to the tips. Tie your hair into a bun or a knot, and let it dry for about 15 minutes. Rinse it off with lukewarm water to have a calm and soothed scalp

 

For Flakes – Sugar and Coconut Oil

 

The high temperatures during this time can make your scalp appear all flaky, and sometimes even your clothes. This exfoliating treatment works both as a hair mask, and as a face scrub.

What do you need?

 4 table spoons sugar, 2 table spoons coconut oil, 2 drops peppermint oil

How do you make it?

Mix the ingredients in a bowl and apply it on to the scalp, and gently scrub it for about 5 min. After about half an hour, rinse it off using a mild shampoo. This works for hair of all types.

 

For Grease- Egg and Lemon

 

You feel that your hair is too greasy just after 2-3 days after your hair wash. Turns out it is not so uncommon to have a greasy look. This mask while smoothening your hair, will take off all that grease and give it that pitch perfect look you always wanted

What do you need?

1 raw egg, and 1 lemon

How do you make it?

Take a lemon, and squeeze out the entire juice from it. Add it to the raw egg and mix it thoroughly. Apply this mixture on to your scalp and then to your entire hair, and make a bun of your hair. Let the mask sit for about 15 min. Wash it off with warm water and a mild shampoo to get that shiny, smooth and beautiful look.

 

For Stagnant Hair Growth- Cinnamon, Sugar and Coconut Oil

 

Despite waiting for months together, your hair still doesn’t grow? We all have been there. This mask will provide you just the right nourishment you need to strengthen your hair and boost its growth

What do you need?

1 table spoon cinnamon, 1 table spoon sugar and 2 table spoons coconut oil ( few drops of essential oil- optional)

How do you make it?

Mix all the ingredients in a bowl and slowly massage your scalp with the mixture for about 10 min. Let it dry for about 15 min and then rinse off using warm water. Make sure your hair was cleaned before you apply this mask.
